Key Stage 1

Age Group of Children in KS1

Key Stage 1 is the first formal stage of the UK National Curriculum. It follows the play-based Reception year and runs for two school years. Virtual Academy helps children use these two years to master phonics, early reading, handwriting and number sense, so they arrive in KS2 ready to learn independently.

Our tutors don’t just teach, they make learning fun. Digital storybooks and read-aloud activities grow vocabulary and a love of reading.

Digital drawing, animations and a virtual science world make complex topics easier and more enjoyable.

Urdu Learning Modules

Interactive flashcards for letters and sounds, everyday vocabulary (colours, animals, seasons, feelings, family), then reading and writing through poems, stories and visual lessons.

Islamic Studies & Quran

KS1 Quran Tutors

We offer online Quran classes for early-years children. Parents trust us because they see their child’s progress in Islamic knowledge, Quran reading and interest in learning more, including Islamic etiquette (Tarbiyah) and practices.

Noorani Qaida & Basic Tajweed

Qualified tutors start with Noorani Qaida and basic Tajweed, focusing on correct pronunciation of the Arabic alphabet, step by step.

Quran Reading (Nazra)

Once Qaida is complete, tutors guide children into Quran reading using Quranic visuals that help them learn faster.

Interactive Islamic Stories & Daily Duas

Moral-based Islamic stories and age-appropriate Islamic knowledge, plus daily duas for eating, sleeping, going out and everyday life.
